Our Nonprofit's Mission
The mission of the Childhood Mental Health Foundation, otherwise known as Sheldon And Friends, is to provide resources and support to children and families, starting the conversation about mental health in an accessible and engaging way. We seek to destigmatize mental health conversations by offering children's mental health books and educational video series with puppets, cartoons, and original music that both engage and empower families to begin open, honest dialogues about their mental health. Through our resources, we seek to support and guide the wellbeing of our young generation.
The Sheldon and Friends’ book series was designed to start the conversation about mental health and are written to be understood by both children and adults. Our goals and hopes are to encourage our future generations to be more aware of their mental health, but also to be able to verbalize how they feel as opposed to showing it physically. We want them to know that they are loved, unique, special individuals and that they are not alone. Mental health is real for all ages and should be taken seriously. Through these books, we can help start the conversation and get people to find the assistance they need.
